Job Description We are seeking an established technical professional for the role of the Technical Services Manager (TSM). This is a key management position and will be responsible for coaching and overseeing a team of about (ten) Systems Engineers and Senior Systems Engineers, often working closely with our Infrastructure and Sales teams. The ideal candidate for this job is someone who is technical, certified, detailed-oriented and has good people skills. The TSM is responsible for ensuring that the VNS Service Team provides all of our customers with competent, professional service delivery that supersede customer expectations and satisfaction in the quality of service and solutions delivered. Job Duties & Responsibilities Manage Service staff, including hiring, training, evaluation, guidance, promotion, discipline and discharge. Review all engineer work and documentation before the customer is billed. Writing and reviewing Scopes of Work (SOWs), Bills of Material (BOMs), and Project Management Timelines for Service team delivered solutions Insure that SE team maintains maximum utilization to support their staffing costs Manage the team training and technical certs to help expand capabilities , service offerings and maintaining vendor certification requirements (ie: Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, HP, Symantec, etc) Perform customer site audits to ensure technical staff is delivering service according to best practices and meeting or exceeding VNS standards. Participate in management team efforts to grow company to $25M in annual sales Support sales team and contributing to the pre-sales process by going on sales calls, providing timely recommendations and technical input on projects and BOMs This is a Management position . Some night and weekend work may be required from time to time, as projects require, but this is not the norm, and is at the discretion of the employee to determine based on workload requirements, to insure that the IT department is run efficiently and growing. Desired Skills and Experience 7+ years of hands-on industry experience in IT services (preferred working for MSP and/or VAR), providing network management, consulting and project management services 2+ years managing others, and/or formal management training Bachelor’s Degree preferred, however candidates that possess an AS Degree in Network Administration or Business, combined with relevant experience will be considered. Addition of MBA or Master’s degree would be ideal The ability to understand how different technologies integrate, at both a high and fundamental levels. These technologies include: Microsoft server technologies (on-prem and cloud), VMWare, HP servers, storage, and networking, Cisco switches and phones, wireless LAN, and VOIP solutions. Certs - required: MCSE, CCNA or CCDA Additional certs desired: VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA/CCDA/CCNP, Citrix CCEA/CCEE/CCIA, HP ASE/AIS, ITIL Hands-on experience with: Windows Active Directory, Office 365, Exchange Server, VMware ESX server, HP or Dell servers, Cisco routing and switching, firewalls and UTM, NAS/SAN technology, SNMP and WMI Prefer also: Cisco voice, WLAN experience Reliable transportation and a clean driving record Must be local to Fresno/Clovis, CA or willing to relocate at own expense Former US military personnel are of particular interest and encouraged to apply, if you meet all minimum requirement Compensation & Benefits $80K-$135K total. $65K-$85K base salary, DOE and (active) certifications, with average profit sharing of $10K-$50k/year, based on team and company performance.
