Job Description
Golden Valley is hiring for an experienced Human Resource Generalist : a big plus if previous role was in a Health Care or Union environment Responsible for human resource activities to include employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, leaves, workers comp, on:boarding and training and development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
:Demonstrates effective communication and problem:solving skills.
:Provide superior human resource support to our employees.
:Develop and maintain a good relationship with employment agencies and other recruitment resources.
:Assist managers with reviewing and approving performance evaluations.
:Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions.
:Provide advice, assistance and follow:up on company policies, procedures, and documentation.
:Draft HR correspondence letters to employees.
:Participate in interviews as needed and assist staff members with identifying and creating job related interview questions.
:Handle employee complaints, grievances and disputes.
:Assists with compensation and classification issues.
:Review employee complaints and ensure accurate and timely documentation of concerns or issues.
:leadership development
:Facilitate timely resolution of employee relations issues maintaining an appropriate balance between employee and management advocacy
:Supervisory duties.
:Other projects and duties as assigned by manager.
Min. Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE: knowledge of HR practices and procedures. SKILLS: Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Excel and Word; basic writing, reading and arithmetic skills; excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills. ABILITY TO: exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations; establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work; research, evaluate and analyze new recruitment techniques, methods, and procedures; maintain confidentiality, supervise others.
Physical Demands:
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25:50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Education/Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources Generalist experience required. Must demonstrate leadership potential and be open to career growth. Highly competitive candidates would have human resource experience in Health Care with union experience. A Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources, business or a related field is required for consideration. Valid CDL and vehicle insurance required.
